E4 – ESL for Educators
About the program
E4 – ESL for Educators is a short intensive program targeted at educators who teach any subject matter where the language of instruction is in English. The goal is to enhance their ability at teaching in English. The program includes classroom sessions that educate participants about the latest in TESOL methodology. In addition, it immerses them in American culture, society, and history to further enhance their pedagogy.

Why E4 – ESL for Educators?
Our program utilizes an immersive approach to education. It allows educators to explore New York and experience it from various perspectives: culture, history, society, and entertainment. The experiences consist of visiting cultural sites, educational and inspirational meetings with community leaders, educators, as well as interacting with everyday citizens. Educators will have the opportunity to refine their English language skills everyday in real-life situations. This allows them to expand their pedagogical skills by refining and strengthening their grasp of the English language, improving their accent, and gaining cultural understanding. The ultimate goal is to empower them with a deeper level of the English language and culture, which they can use to drive their lives forward and tap into more opportunities in life.

Activities and exercises are designed to maximize communication skills and include presentations, blog postings, and interactions with professors and New Yorkers.
Pronunciation, vocabulary building, and language usage will be highlighted as needed. This methodology course will focus on current best TESOL practices, including lesson-plan development and delivery, and evaluation and assessment tools, with an emphasis on the use of technology.
